At work, I am a scientist. I am currently doing a post-doc, having finally received my PhD at the ripe old age of 54. Which isn’t bad, when you think that up until I was 30-something, I didn’t think I could do science, and didn’t start my degree until I was 39. I am an Environmental Chemist and Aquatic Toxicologist, specialising in chemical risk assessment. Currently, I am working on risk assessment methodologies for reclaimed water for indirect potable reuse.
At play, I am a quilter. I spend my spare time quilting, designing quilts in EQ6, and reading about quilts - in blogs, magazines and books. I avoid housework, though sometimes I have to tidy the sewing room.
I have two beautiful daughters, Jeanne and Heather. Jeanne is 20, and just finding her feet in the world. Heather is 19, and was born with her feet in a very special place. She found her place in the world very easily. I also have two step sons, two step-step sons and more grandchildren than I’ve been able to count. Family is really complicated, but fun, mostly.
